Hi, my name is Tammy Do. I’m currently an undergraduate Computer Science student. I have a strong interest in software development and robotics. At the RARE Lab, I fortunately have opportunities to work on projects that are intersections of programming, algorithm design, and human-robot interaction.
My fellow researcher and I are exploring technological applications to create transformative robotics solutions for real-world mental health challenges college students face. We have really made efforts to push the boundaries of software engineering and robotics. Keep pushing!

For the past two years at the RARE Lab, I’ve been leading research at the intersection of human-robot interaction, artificial intelligence, and mental health. Working alongside PhD researchers, I’ve designed studies, developed intelligent robotic behaviors, and contributed to publications and presentations at venues like ICRA, HRI, the USF ONE Symposium, and AI+Health events.
What drives me is the challenge of pushing the boundaries of robotics and software engineering while keeping human needs at the center of everything we build. This work has deepened my commitment to creating intelligent systems that can make a real difference in people’s lives.
