Over the past seven months, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering in the RARE lab, collaborating on a research project that looks into dramatically reducing the cost of HRI studies as well as increasing the replicability of these studies. During that time, I dove into a range of new tools like ROS, Gazebo, RViz, HoloLens, and others, and sharpened my Git, Linux, and collaborative skills. I really enjoyed working with the Fetch robot and collaborating with other student researchers in the lab. More than that, I learned what it truly means to be a Computer Scientist and a researcher.
I’m truly grateful to Dr. Han for his professionalism and for creating industry-grade workflows and an environment that prepares us for careers in computer science. I’m sure that the experience and skills I’ve gained here will help me in the future.
