During my time in the RARE Lab, I had the great opportunity to contribute to 2 major robotics projects. One was working with the Pepper robot, which was to help communicate the Field of Vision (FoV) from robots to humans. This project taught me a lot about Python, ROS, and working within a team setting.

Additionally, I worked on a recipe recommender robot project, which helped strengthen my skills in cloud platforms, LLM/AI integration, OOP, and embedded systems.

My time here was a great asset in teaching me a lot of fundamental skills that prepared me for the workforce. It definitely showed me how to work effectively in a workplace setting for computer science-related jobs and helped with internship interview prep. I am very grateful that I was part of the RARE Lab, as it played a significant role in preparing me for my future career.

Hey there! I am Thomveebol, a second-year Computer Science major at the University of South Florida. I have been given the opportunity to dive deeper into my interests in robotics and AI at the RARE Lab.

I have been doing robotics since high school and this lab was a great way for me to expand my knowledge and passion. Also, I’ve been getting interested in stuff involving AI, so I hope to gain more experience working with AI and robotics to create fun projects that can help people.
