Throughout my six months with the RARE Lab, I have gained valuable research experience and deepened my understanding of robotics. I have been involved in two projects that strengthened both my technical skills and problem-solving abilities. During this time, I learned a wide range of new concepts in a short period and adapted to the fast-paced culture of acquiring skills quickly for each project. In addition to technical work, I have had the opportunity to engage in various aspects of the research process, from shaping an idea to bringing a project to life.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the RARE Lab, as it has prepared me with both technical knowledge and research experience that will support my future academic and professional goals.

Hi! My name is Thao Nguyen, but my friends often call me Jennifer. I am a junior at the University of South Florida, majoring in Computer Science.
I am passionate about software and web development, with a strong interest in the intersection of AI and healthcare. I believe AI has the potential to transform healthcare by improving diagnostics, optimizing treatment plans, and making medical technology more accessible. My goal is to contribute to the development of AI-driven solutions that enhance patient care and bridge the gap between technology and healthcare.
By joining the RARE Lab, I hope to build a better understanding of human-robot interaction and develop my skills in creating AI systems that are both powerful and intuitive for users. I’m excited to contribute to research that bridges the gap between advanced technology and human needs, exploring how AI can be designed to work seamlessly with people in various applications.
