During my time in the RARE Lab at the University of South Florida, I was able to apply my knowledge of 3D modeling software and electronics while serving as one of the Hardware Leads for the Fog Screen Projected AR team. I designed and iterated projector mounting systems in SolidWorks and 3D-printed custom parts to integrate a fog screen display onto a Unitree GO2 robot dog. The lab environment emphasized organization, clear communication, and cross-team collaboration, which made working with team members efficient and allowed me to grow my professional teamwork skills.

This experience helped me improve not only my hardware design and prototyping abilities, but also my ability to communicate technical ideas, manage project timelines, and contribute effectively within a team. I’m grateful to Dr. Han for the opportunity to be part of the RARE Lab and to contribute to hands-on robotics research.

Hello! My name is Jacob, and I am a Senior in Electrical Engineering at the University of South Florida with a strong interest in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

My passion for engineering began with personal projects where I experimented with electromagnets, remote control systems, and motors to design small-scale robotic systems. Over time, this curiosity developed into a deeper interest in robotics, automation, and intelligent systems. Through the RARE Lab, I hope to expand my knowledge of robotics, gain hands-on research experience, and contribute to innovative projects while continuing to grow my skills as an engineer.
