Hi! My name is Mariah Barreto, and I’m an undergraduate student majoring in Computer Engineering with Honors at the University of South Florida. My love for learning and innovation has taken me beyond the borders of my home country, Brazil, with opportunities to participate in research programs at the New York Academy of Sciences and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. In these experiences, I’ve seen how technology can address real-world challenges, inspiring my drive to be part of the future of tech, especially in fields like robotics that hold the potential to transform our society.

What makes me excited about being a part of the RARE Lab is how its mission aligns with my values of collaboration, inclusivity, and using technology to make a meaningful impact on society. I believe that technology, especially in robotics, should not only solve technical problems but also improve human experiences with thoughtful and user-centered design.
