Hey! I am Dev Thakkar, a computer science student at USF with a passion for robotics, AI, and how we interact with machines. I am currently working with the RARE Lab, tackling some big challenges in making robots more understandable and useful in everyday life.

I have experience using reinforcement learning and simulation tools like CARLA to push the boundaries of autonomous vehicles. I love exploring how AI can make technology safer and more adaptive to human needs. I am excited to contribute to projects that not only advance robotic systems but also make them easier for people to interact with.

My time at the RARE Lab may have been short, but it was filled with learning, growth, and exciting challenges. I learned ROS, Unity, and VirtualBox for robotics, AR, and computer networks, gaining hands-on experience in building and testing HRI systems.

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to projects that push the boundaries of what robotics can achieve. While my chapter here has come to a close, the skills and insights I’ve gained will continue to inspire my future endeavors.

To the RARE Lab team: thank you for the guidance, collaboration, and memories. I’ll always look back on this time fondly and with immense appreciation.
